Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET) held at SEARCA’s Drilon Hall

Here are some snaps from the Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET) held at the SEARCA’s Drilon Hall on 26-27 February 2024.

This capacity-building activity was attended by:

• New members of the Research Ethics Board

• Graduate Program Management Committee Chair; and

• SEARCA staff

The BRET featured lecture workshops led by Dr. Carl Abelardo Antonio of UP Manila and Dr. Gemma Balein of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center. Drs Antonio and Balein are research ethics trainers at the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB).

The UPLB Research Ethics Board organized the BRET with generous support from the UPLB Graduate School and SEARCA.

The UPLB REB has a Level-1 accreditation from the PHREB.

The UPLB-REB is a unit under the UPLB Research and Extension.
